Summary:They first story I read was Where is he who has been born king. This story was about when Gabriel the angel coming down to Galilee, a city in Nazareth. Gabriel went to a woman named Mary and told her she was going to have a baby and she was going to have to name his Jesus and he would be the Son of God. At the same time Mary's cousin Elizabeth had conceived a child also. After, Joseph and Mary went up to Bethlehem and while they were there Mary had her child. They wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger. The angel Gabriel went to shepherds in a field and told them about the baby of God being born. Gabriel said that they would find the baby in a manger in swaddling clothes. After that three wise men from the east came and brought three gifts with them for the baby Jesus. They were: gold, frankincense and myrrh. After they departed and left Joseph and Mary to their new son.
The next story I had to do was Journey of the Magi. This poem was about the journey and how it was very cold and that it was the dead of winter. It talks about how after this long journey this person finally comes to a place where the snow level is low and that there is fresh vegetation. The person didn't like it there so they kept going with their journey. The person finally gets to the place and wonders about birth and death. The person talks about how they thought this birth was hard and bitter like death.
The next story i read was a poem called To Jesus On His Birthday. It is about his birth and how it was celebrated after he was born. The person talks about objects such as tinsel and a paper wreath. Also, the person talks about tree that Jesus bled upon which refers to the cross.
The final thing I had to read about was a poem called Some say that ever 'gainst that season comes. It is about how people all over the world celebrate Jesus being born. They talk about how gracious that time of year is.
